In Pignon, Community for Humanity has partnered with the Top Plus organization. Top Plus is an acronym for “Travailleurs Objectivites Permanentes au Maximum” or in rough translation, “Workers for the Highest Goals, to the Max”. The name reflects the group’s high commitment to working for the spiritual, economic, and educational development of families in the Pignon region.
Top Plus began with the commitment of two of Pignon’s outstanding civic leaders to assist many of the young people of Pignon with advanced studies: Caleb Lucien is the founder of Pignon’s large private school, College de la Grace (with 1100 elementary and secondary students), and Dr. Guy Theodore is the founder of Pignon’s Hospital Bienfaisance, a 65-bed facility providing health care to the entire region. Some of the young adults who were assisted in their studies by these men returned to Pignon and formed the Top Plus organization to help with the development of their community.
Top Plus seeks partners to join with them in helping the development of Pignon in the following areas: well-drilling and latrine construction, food distribution, providing housing in conjunction with The Fuller Center for Housing, non-interest microloans for small farms and other family-based businesses, and student scholarships and school materials.
