Pignon, Haiti Partnership with Top Plus
In Pignon, Community for Humanity has partnered with the Top Plus organization to provide student scholarships for primary and secondary school students, and to provide microloans for small family-based businesses. Top Plus began with the commitment of two of Pignon’s outstanding civic leaders to assist many of the young people of Pignon with advanced studies: Caleb Lucien is the founder of Pignon’s large private school, College de la Grace (with 1100 elementary and secondary students), and Dr. Guy Theodore is the founder of Pignon’s Hospital Bienfaisance, a 65-bed facility providing health care to the entire region. Some of the young adults who were assisted in their studies by these men returned to Pignon and formed the Top Plus organization to help with the development of their community.
Top Plus contributes to the development of Pignon in many ways, including housing, education, and small business development.
